Easymat Mattering and Layering Plate
Pearly Picks set of 8 dies.
Pearly Pages Tumbling Leaves Die Collection
Pretty Paper and Trims
We have used our new Pearly Picks Collection to create this pretty fan/journalling card.
Step 1. We created an 8 “x 8 “card.
Step 2 We used our Easymat Matting and Layering Board to create a layer of pretty paper 7.5″ x 7.5”
Step 3. We used Easymat to create a second layer of Muted Gold Card 7 “x 7″ both of which we then layered onto our base card.
Step 4. We cut a left and right Tumbling leaves Pocket Diecuts and added them to the card – gluing at the side and bottom only to form pockets.
Step 5 We cut 7 of our chosen pick in a pretty paper and then cut a further seven in just plain card and glued to the back of the pretty paper to give stability to the pick.
Step 6 We then cut 7 of the filigree option of the same pick. and then snipped off the top portion at a pleasing point. Then we adhered the cut off filigree portions to the pretty paper picks.
Step 7 we added a little embroidered rose embellishment to the middle of each pick. We also added a small cut out butterfly to the top of each pick. We added a pearl to the middle of the body of the butterfly.
Step 8 We added a snipped of top of 1 of the picks to the centre pick and added a larger butterfly with a pearl centre to match.
We then assembled the fan pieces by piercing a hole in each piece at the bottom, then we put a brad through all the holes to secure together.
We joined the fan segments together…keeping the top fan piece as a central point and then splayed out the remaining pieces – taking 1 to the left and then 1 to the right and so on.
We secured each fan piece together at the edge by using a glue dot.
We created a tassel by using a 12″ x 2″ strip of matching paper and scored with a trimmer at every 1/4” to just below the top. Taking a piece of butchers cord or fine ribbon to create the string to hang by and popped it at the end of the cut strip and added a dot of glue and rolled up tightly to form the tassel. We added lace, roses and pearly trim to decorate the top of the tassel .
We added a handmade flower to the base of the fan.
We then glued the fan onto the tumbling leaves pocket already on the card – making sure that we slipped a piece of acetate inside the pocket first so that we did not glue our card together lol…
The fan now formed a lovely large pocket for any ephemera you wish – we added another little enclosed pocket – and also added a fussy cut rose and butterfly tuck spot to the opposite corner the possibilities are endless. This makes a lovely keepsake for the recipient.
